Through seasonal drives, essential resource support, outreach efforts, and community partnerships, we offer practical assistance paired with compassionate care. Lifting Up Communities – MKE was founded in 2025 with a commitment to filling gaps in essential support across Milwaukee. What began with small drives and acts of service has grown into a structured foundation dedicated to uplifting individuals and families through resources, outreach, and community engagement. As we expand, we remain focused on providing meaningful, accessible support that strengthens neighborhoods and creates lasting impact.
Our team is made up of individuals who are dedicated to uplifting Milwaukee through service, compassion, and community action. From volunteers to board leadership, we work together to provide resources, support, and encouragement to those who need it most. We are united by a belief that collective care builds stronger families and stronger neighborhoods.
Lifting Up Communities – MKE was born from my understanding of how instability, hardship, and lack of support can impact individuals and families. I knew there were gaps in resources and compassion within our city — especially for those facing housing insecurity and crisis.
I founded LUC to build a community-driven foundation that not only provides essential items, but also restores dignity, hope, and connection. My goal is to create a space where people feel seen, supported, and uplifted during their most difficult moments, while building pathways toward long-term stability and empowerment.
Kiara Gibbs — Founder & President
Kiara Gibbs is a community-centered leader dedicated to uplifting Milwaukee residents through service, advocacy, and action. With a heart for helping individuals overcome hardship, she established Lifting Up Communities – MKE to provide essential resources, compassionate support, and meaningful opportunities for growth.
Her leadership guides the foundation’s strategic direction, program development, and long-term vision as LUC expands its outreach efforts, partnerships, and future housing initiatives.
