What began with small drives and acts of service has evolved into a structured foundation dedicated to community engagement and uplifting individuals and families through valuable Milwaukee resources. As we grow, we remain focused on offering meaningful, accessible support that strengthens neighborhoods and creates a lasting impact.

Lifting Up Communities – MKE was born from my understanding of how instability, hardship, and lack of support can impact individuals and families. I recognized significant gaps in Milwaukee resources and the compassion needed within our city, particularly for those facing housing insecurity and crisis.
I founded LUC to foster community engagement and build a foundation that not only provides essential items but also restores dignity, hope, and connection. My goal is to create a space where people feel seen, supported, and uplifted during their most challenging times, while also building pathways toward long-term stability and empowerment.

Kiara Gibbs is a community-centered leader committed to enhancing community engagement among Milwaukee residents through service, advocacy, and action. With a passion for helping individuals overcome hardship, she founded Lifting Up Communities – MKE to provide essential Milwaukee resources, compassionate support, and meaningful opportunities for growth.
Her leadership steers the foundation’s strategic direction, program development, and long-term vision as Lifting Up Communities expands its outreach efforts, partnerships, and future housing initiatives.
